2 days remaining in Scotland, and then it’s back to Spain
Actually as of today, I officially have an apartment in Spain. In Granada. Paid the agency (finder’s) fee, the deposit, and everything. Wanna know the best part?
I haven’t even visited the apartment yet!
Bit of a gamble, saying “Oh ya these pics look nice, hopefully these guys aren’t scamming me or nothing. Well, fuck it, I’m moving in.”
Listen, as much as I loved living in a hostel, while working and whatnot, it was long overdo, finding a place to just throw all my clothes and get a home base while I finish writing my novel and start playing the new Zelda game. My sister Shannon just bought a Switch, and I can’t let her get too ahead of me in Tears of the Kingdom. Problem is, my Nintendo, my speaker, my Macbook Pro are all in Madrid. So at some point, once I get back to Spain, I’m gonna need to take a bus or an airplane back to Madrid, and back, all in a two day span. Or maybe I can have someone deliver it. Hmm…..
Today was nice in Edinburgh, because I found a T-shirt from a bar I liked, and that’s always an objective when I come to a city that I like. The bar was called “Banshee Mayhem” or… something like that. “Banshee” something. And it’s shaped like a crypt, with several adjoining rooms, black metal, and some lore involving a girl that got stuck in a chimney and still haunts the place. Can’t have a cool bar with a ghost that roams the premises!
Afterwards we went to the Black Rose, where they had karaoke night, and I fucking crushed a couple of songs, despite just getting over Covid 3.0, or whatever iteration they’re on now. Gotta love when you go to a bar with karaoke, and it isn’t too densely populated, so you can get maximum rotation, and minimal waiting. Surfs up, dudes!
Tomorrow is my last full day here, and goddamn, I’ll miss it. Worth every second and GBP spent here. Will gladly return, and likely visit the highlands, up north, upon my next visit.
Hope everyone is having a lovely new year, and is keeping up with their resolutions that I made for them. Oh, what, you weren’t aware that I decided everyone’s NY resolution for them? Well! Let me inform you what that entails. It entails being positive. Publicly, and from within. It means that you are no longer able to post negative shit on your Instagram stories every single day of your lives! Yes, the world is filled with war, plague, pestilence, but we don’t need you reminding us. You are not a news network. You are a person capable of manifesting good, and spreading it through a ripple wave, creating a positive force that’ll be good for humanity.
