UGH!
Looking at facebook news feed these days depresses the fuck out of me. I mean, it was depressing already when I had to be subjected constantly to pictures of your dumb little babbies drooling on themselves and gnawing on a tree branch or something else retarded that only something dumber than a protozoa is capable of; but now, somehow, things have gotten worse.
ISIS! Immigrants! Racism! Gay grandpas!
Suddenly, everyone is so tuned into the state of worldly affairs. And because a couple bombs went off in France last week, everyone is on high alert. Everybody is a hero, because “they stand with France”. People are even changing their Facebook profile pic into a France flag. Whoaaaaaa! That takes some SERIOUS BALLS. (How many of you even have a single French friend?)
Here’s the thing. This attack? This wasn’t shit. This was nothing on the level of what happened in Nigeria earlier this year. You know, when Boko Haram killed 2,000 people in a single attack? Terrorists Killed 2,000 People in Nigeria Oh, no, you missed that didn’t you. But I bet you heard about when that magazine office in France got raided one day before, and less than twenty people died. It’s almost like… almost like the media is kinda partial to France, no? Kinda partial to “white” countries.
Let me say this: I love France. I had a French girlfriend. French people are weirdos, and they hate Americans. We have a lot in common. But glorifying what happened there seems like a big plate of poop. What happened there is something that has been happening in Yemen, or Pakistan, or Iraq, on a daily basis!
When I listen to “the news”, I realize it can be very selective. It can even completely make shit up. Like how when they interviewed two survivors of the France thing, and they said very plainly, “They came in, silently, and just started shooting. They didn’t yell or scream or anything. I like baguettes.” And then when they had a “translator” on Fox News, she said, “They came in and screamed, ‘Allah Akkbar!‘ and then started shooting.” Like, what?
Something I’ve been following closely over the past few weeks is the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership). A behind-closed-doors formed pact between twelve powerful countries that will have huge implications on the world economy, and your salary, in the years ahead. It’s been called things like “the biggest global threat to the internet,” or a “total corporate power-grab nightmare”. ‘Worse Than We Thought’ When I listen to the news in Japanese, I hear about it on an almost daily basis. Yet, when I ask my Mom about it, who watches the local news 3x a day, she knows nothing. That is kinda strange. And you don’t ever hear about how the leader of ISIS was a former American prisoner of war either, do ya? That’s right. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was in American custody for years. And suddenly he’s in charge of this fearsome, godless, killing machine known as “A Few Dudes in the Desert”–I mean, ISIS.
I wish people would formulate their own ideas. Do their own research. Stop putting boring, bland, trite shit on my Facebook. Challenge me! Teach me! Don’t put a video of a cop shooting a black guy and say “Racism is alive in America!” You dumb shit! Racism will ALWAYS be alive in America. And in France. And in Turkey. And in Brazil. Hell, I’m sure that one black guy in Canada has been called a mean name before–it’s gonna happen! Changing the world starts with changing yourself. Set an example. Inspire others. It’s the only way anything will ever get done. If all else fails, grab the pitchfork and stage a violent revolution. But we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.
